Caretaker Tourism
CIPRA International project manager Magdalena Holzer and Tobias Hipp from the German Alpine Association would like to create a platform for informal exchange between stakeholders in the Alpine region as these Caretakers of the ACB. The aim is to connect regional developers, tourism offices, mountaineering villages and other experts in order to share ongoing projects, challenges and solutions and develop joint initiatives. Virtual meetings in English are planned to promote knowledge transfer and strengthen cooperation for climate-friendly tourism in the Alps.

Magdalena Holzer, CIPRA International
Tourism and the hospitality industry have shaped Magdalena Holzer for many years - both as a trained tourism manager and in her role as a long-standing project manager at CIPRA International. For her, tourism means welcoming people consciously and sustainably. Her central concern is to preserve the joy of hospitality - through targeted management measures and the careful use of resources, both in nature and among people. Sustainable tourism can only succeed through cooperation. This is why Magdalena Holzer, as a caretaker, is actively involved in networking various stakeholders.
Tobias Hipp from the German Alpine Association (DAV) is a geographer and completed his doctorate on the effects of climate change on Alpine permafrost. As an enthusiastic mountaineer and skier, he combines his passion for the mountains with a strong commitment to environmental protection. In his role as a representative of the DAV's environmental department, he deals with environmental assessments, particularly in the areas of energy and winter tourism, with the aim of preserving untouched natural landscapes from further technical development.
