Initiative for mountain enthusiasts with disabilities
This summer the French Vanoise National Park is offering special programmes for visitors with physical disabilities.
The activities include guided tours in the company of Park staff, who will lead groups consisting of two to a maximum of eight participants. The target groups are associations or groups of the disabled as well as private individuals. The tours on offer are routed along wide paths through the Grande Sassière Nature Reserve, which besides the beauty of its landscape also offers the opportunity to observe the mountain fauna, with bearded vultures or chamois. The itineraries are well suited for all-terrain wheelchairs; the park administration also has two such wheelchairs available, which can be adapted individually. The fees are €5 for individuals, and €4 per person for groups.
