A delegation from Chartreuse visits Bad Hindelang to discuss mobility in Alpine areas

As part of the European ERASMUS+ project "DINAMO - Developing International Nature Adapted Mobility Options", CIPRA Germany and CIPRA France organised exchange study visits between two pilot territories : the Chartreuse massif in France (represented by the regional natural park and the local authority "Coeur de Chartreuse") and the municipality of Bad Hindelang in Germany.

German, French, English - the Kurhaus in Bad Hindelang was multilingual on Thursday 25 April. The French Chartreuse massif (represented by the local auhtority "Coeur de Chartreuse" and the regional natural park of Chartreuse), located in Savoie between Chambéry and Grenoble, visited the German municipality of Bad Hindelang as part of the EU-funded "DINAMO" project. The five-people strong delegation from the French Alps listened with interest to the morning's presentations. Lively discussions took place during the explanations of the "Bad Hindelang 2030" living space concept with an integrated tourism strategy, as well as during the presentation of the local alpine economy by the "Hindelang - Nature & Culture" landscape conservation association. The subsequent presentation on the effects of climate change in local mountain forests by the AELF Kempten and the presentation of the visitor orientation concept by the Alpinium also prompted questions, discussions and exchanges of experience during the panel discussion.

The day continued with a ride in the now multi-award-winning EMMI-Mobil, and a discussion about this Bad Hindelang mobility project and concept, set against an impressive Alpine panorama at the Kanzelkiosk near Oberjoch. "Due to the diversity and excellence of the presentations and the intensive two-way exchange with our French guests and partners, it was a very interesting day full of new experiences and information," reports Max Hillmeier, Bad Hindelang's Tourism Director. The event ended with shared eagerness to participate in the next exchange, which will take place in France.

"The interest of both parties was clearly perceptible in the lively conversations and discussions. By exchanging challenges, solutions and experiences, both regions can benefit from the concepts that have been tried and tested, and make the Alps a better place to live. And it is precisely this added value that European project funding is intended to promote", emphasises Henriette Adolf, Deputy Director of CIPRA Germany.

The DINAMO project, which is supported by the European Union's ERASMUS+ programme, aims above all to gain a better understanding of the similarities, differences and approaches within the European area, and to improve mobility in rural areas.
