Publication: The Alps in 2010
The new publication titled The Alps by the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention provides a comprehensive overview of the Alps, including a wealth of cartographic material. For over a thousand years the Alpine landscape has been used as a cultural landscape.
The land-use hot spots are all shown on the maps along with all the tourist destinations, which attract around 120 million visitors a year.
The aim of the English handbook is to give a vivid illustration of the realities of Alpine regions and the challenges they face.
The publication and the individual maps are available at: www.alpconv.org/documents/Permanent, http://217.199.4.34/Alpine
