Online talk and workshop: Money, Activism, Climate Action - Strategies for a Sustainable Future.

According to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Europe is currently the continent experiencing the fastest warming, placing the vulnerable and beautiful ecosystem of the Alps at significant risk. Despite the clear alarm signals from scientists and nature itself, we are confronted with increasing opposition on one side and growing disinterest on the other. So, what can we do to address climate change?

In this workshop, we explore an often-overlooked topic that can feel abstract and distant: financial flows and their impact on climate change. Additionally, will delve into another important issue that many still fail to recognize fully: the power of activism. Finally, we engage in collective discussions and brainstorming sessions in breakout groups to strategize on how to influence political decision-making at various levels—regional, national, and EU—through advocacy and activist tools.

International Youth Worker Training on Inclusion and sustainability in mountain regions

Then join us in the international training where we explore the question “How can outdoor experiences in the mountains add value to my work with young people from challenging social backgrounds?”

  • Costs: Participation is free of charge, transport costs are covered

Job Shadowing at « En passant par la montagne » in Chamonix

As part of the Via Alpina Youth project, we went job shadowing with the organisation "En passant par la montagne" in Chamonix from 11.03. to 14.03.2024. We had the opportunity to take part in project excursions and learn lots of new things about inclusion in the mountains. We deepened our interest and knowledge in a conversation with Damien Urbain, project officer at the association. You can find out more in the first podcast episode of the project (in French).

First hiking camp in Trieste/I, July 2023

Inclusion while hiking: Starting from Trieste/I, the first group of the CIPRA project "Via Alpina Youth" hiked and camped for four days along the legendary long-distance hiking trail in the Slovenian-Italian border region at the beginning of July 2023.
